HAS THE OBAMA MAGIC WORN OFF?

Nov. 5, 2008 I received an email from a young family member describing his jubilation at the results of the election:

“The cops blocked off the streets for us and everyone sang, cheered, and went crazy. Yes, some were pretty intoxicated, but I have never hugged so many random people. I love this city. I love this country.”

Today I wonder, are the people still singing in the streets, or wondering when they will find a job?

Some will never find fault with Obama. When a friend read my blog about Obama’s failure to meet with General McChrystal, Commander of US forces in Afghanistan, she responded, "Maybe it’s not that Obama doesn’t have time for McChrystal, maybe he just doesn’t like him". As if that absolved Obama of his responsibility in Afghanistan. Never mind Obama only spoke with McChrystal once after appointing him and had no chance to decide he didn’t like him.

Do Americans like Chicago-style politics? They are starting to get an eyeful of Chicago-style politics on full display in this White House, and time will tell how long the Americans will accept this thuggish, unpresidential behavior.

According to Rasmussen, Obama’s poll numbers have dropped from highs after the election. As of this writing

"The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows that 29% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-one percent (41%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -12 (see trends)."

"Overall, 47% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance. Fifty-two percent (52%) disapprove. The President’s total approval has been very stable, staying between 47% and 49% every day for two full weeks. Looking back a bit further, his ratings have stayed between 45% and 52% every day for nearly four months."

October 24 Rasmussen Reports poll shows American voters trust Republicans over Democrats on 10 key electoral issues:

• Health Care: Democrats 40%, Republicans 46%
• Education: Democrats 38%, Republicans 43%
• Social Security: Democrats 37%, Republicans 45%
• Taxes: Democrats 35%, Republicans 50%
• Economy: Democrats 35%, Republicans 49%
• Abortion: Democrats 35%, Republicans 47%
• Immigration: Democrats 33%, Republicans 40%
• National Security: Democrats 31%, Republicans 54%
• Iraq: Democrats 31%, Republicans 50%
• Government Ethics: Democrats 29%, Republicans 33%

Considering the euphoria over Obama’s election, the overwhelming response to the Nobel Peace Prize was ridicule. People felt that Obama either didn’t deserve it or it was too early and maybe some day he will have earned it. According to Gallup, 61% felt his prize was undeserved.

Does Obama still draw the enormous fainting crowds he did before the election?

According to Jules Crittenden, a Boston Herald editor,

“The recently elected Democratic President of the United States can’t fill a room in bluest Massachusetts. Surveying the nearly half-empty Westin Copley ballroom, 2008 “Yes We Can” Hope-and-Changer Barack Obama says on behalf of his longtime political doppelganger Deval Patrick, who in 2006 was the “Together We Can” template O drew on:

“There really should be no doubt that this guy gets a second term. But let’s be honest. This is going to be a tough race … ”

Before and just after the election, you couldn’t walk into Borders without being inundated with shelves and shelves of Obama books, written by him and others. Now how many Obama books are on the bestseller lists? Instead you find Conservative books, by Michelle Malkin, Glenn Beck, Mark Levin, Dick Morris, and Sarah Palin on all Bestseller lists. Chris Matthews has obviously noticed and doesn’t seem to like it!



Are Americans Capitalists at heart, or are they Socialist and Marxist sympathizers? Acorn, Van Jones,  Mark Lloyd, Carol Browner, Anita Dunn and Kevin Jennings all combine to give us the image of a President who appears to be what those of us suspected when we heard the rantings of Obama's 20-year pastor, Reverend Jeremiah Wright.

Obama was promoted as a post-partisan president, yet this post-partisan president has made an enemies list including the US Chamber of Commerce, health insurers and Fox.

The attempt by the White House to restrict free speech and a free press by banning Fox from the news pool and intimidating the other networks backfired and averted a possible constitutional crisis, thereby exposing the Obama team as the bullies they are.

Americans are beginning to notice that Obama’s rhetoric while still a candidate has not matched his presidency:




What happened to Obama's pledge for the most transparent government ever? Everybody was going to sit together around the table. Instead Democrats meet behind locked doors, and locks are changed.




Obama appears to think his very magnetism is all he needs to govern the country and persuade the world to be nice to us. His overuse of the Teleprompter has become a joke. Is it possible his arrogance and narcissism are starting to become unattractive to all but his most ardent fans?

OBAMA’S TRANSFORMATION OF AMERICA. IS THIS WHAT YOU WANTED?

Our president disparages the USA in every speech he gives throughout the world. He appears to be more interested in advancing himself than promoting America.

Commander-In-Chief Obama has no time for General McChrystal, although he put McChrystal in charge of the war in Afghanistan. The war he said was the “war of necessity”.

Increasing nuclear threats, printing money, falling dollar, record US National debt and budget deficits, bailouts, widespread unemployment, rampant government corruption, and Miranda rights for terrorists are just barely mentioned in the mainstream press. Apparently too busy reporting on Obamas’ date nights and glowing accounts of Michelle’s wardrobe and arms. The biased, dishonest press reports only news favorable to Obama.

The government is in the process of taking over our health care, despite the fact that the country has displayed they don’t want it.

Congress doesn’t read the bills and doesn’t even understand what they’re voting on. Democrats vote against bills being published online before the vote, apparently afraid we'll read them.

Obama didn’t hear about the Acorn videos, didn’t know we were giving them money, as they are being investigated for massive voter fraud, corruption, turning a blind eye to teenage brothels, and now getting $1M from FEMA to fight fires.

No prayer in schools, no religious ornaments on Christmas trees at the White House, no longer a Christian nation, as school children sing songs of praise to Obama and community organization prays to Obama. Now the Supreme Court is hearing a case about tearing down a cross from a World War I memorial.

Joe Wilson is excoriated for accusing the President of lying, while Alan Grayson is excused for accusing the Republicans of wanting us to die.

Americans expressing their views are accused of being a mob and un-American.

After keeping us safe for 8 years, the CIA is demoralized as the Justice Department recommends the CIA be investigated.

Do the Liberals expect to be spared if our country is attacked again?

Socialists, people with Marxist and Communist ties, and the most unsavory characters are closely advising the President of our country.

When I questioned my long-time friend and MSNBC viewer if she had heard about Van Jones, she asked “What’s wrong with Socialism?”

Freedom of speech is in jeopardy. Criticize Obama for his policies and expect to be called a racist.

Tax evasion and fraud by government officials is excused or ignored.

Obama promised to transform our country; and now he is doing just that.
